Decisions and Demands

8 Oct

this is my villanelle from my verse class this week, it was kind of a challenge it is 19 lines, and has an alternating rhyme scheme, as well as two repetitive lines, and written in pantameter. enjoy!

He used big words I didn’t understand,

and smoked cuban cigars with all the men.

He made mean decisions and large demands.

He left me on the beach for dryier land.

He liked his tonic with imported gin,

He used big words I didn’t understand.

His life was precise, his life was well planned,

I was nothing but a devious sin

He made mean decisions and large demands

His bank roll was huge. His ties cost a grand

No matter what he was in it to win

He used big words I didn’t understand.

He bought his yacht and he bought his island.

He took me places I had never been.

He made mean decisions and large demands.

Still the viagra was in the nightstand.

and late at night he would watch Doctor Quinn

He used big words I didn’t understand,

He made mean decisions and large demands
